Cash sessions, counter payments, and end-of-day reconciliation.
Opening a session
Each user can have only one open cash session at a time. Opening one records a starting float, which becomes the session's first movement.
Taking cash payments
A cash payment requires an open cash session — without an open drawer, Merakos refuses the payment. Other payment methods (card, bank transfer, check, mixed) don't depend on a session.
Cash movements
Every session logs its movements along with the running balance after each one: the opening float, sale payments, and any deposits or withdrawals entered manually by staff.
Closing a session
At closing, you enter the amount actually counted in the drawer; Merakos compares it against the expected amount, calculated from every movement, and shows the discrepancy, positive or negative.
Daily report
The daily report consolidates every session for the day across all cashiers: opening floats, sale payments, deposits, withdrawals, expected vs. counted amounts, and the total discrepancy — to verify the till balances to zero.
